Let’s use Trustworthy AI to contribute to a thriving human world.

Decision-enhancing algorithms, chatbots, and self-driving cars: Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems have become part of everyday life.

Our vision is that these systems should serve all humankind & the earth – and not vice versa.

The goal of leiwand.ai is to help organisations develop and deploy trustworthy AI – AI that delivers what it promises, fairly.

As a first step towards this goal, we have kicked off the initiative Trustworthy AI in Practice in order to enable the conversation between AI stakeholders in the working world, health, sustainability, retail and other sectors. Together we draw the map for AI practitioners to create AI systems that are trustworthy and beneficial for all.

Our Approach

We believe that digital technologies have to be shaped in novel ways in order to improve their quality and impact, and earn the trust of citizens and customers.

Trustworthy AI is not a simple label that can be attached to a product in hindsight: It is a design choice, and needs to be pursued throughout the AI system lifecycle. leiwand.ai is here to support the entire process.

To achieve this, we strike a novel, more holistic AI development path: From AI system inception to retirement, we bring societal, human and planetary needs into the equation. leiwand.ai devises strategies to maximize positive impacts and minimize risks throughout the AI system’s life cycle.

We bring not only AI expertise to the table, but apply Open Innovation methods and include a wealth of knowledge from various disciplines, such as social sciences and law to the entire AI development process.

Our interdisciplinary methods are designed to help organisations developing and deploying reliable AI solutions that benefit people, society and the planet, and contribute to social fairness and sustainability.
